Frequently Asked Questions

What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual lashes that unlike strips or individual clusters, are attached to your natural eyelashes and not your eyelid with a specially formulated semi-permanent adhesive. The lashes enhance the length, thickness and fullness of your natural lashes to give you are natural look and feel. At kLASHed, we use faux mink lashes and will soon offer Siberian mink lashes.

Will eyelash extensions damage my eyes or natural lashes?
If applied properly, eyelash extensions will not damage your eyes or lashes. It is also important for the client to follow all after care procedures to prevent damage.

Who typically wear eyelash extensions?
Our clients are typically women that range in age of 25 to 75. However, anyone can wear eyelash extensions. We have young women (with parent consent) that get extensions for Prom and even guys have come in for lashes. Eyelash extensions are ideal for the busy mom on the go, the woman that doesn’t wear makeup but desires a natural “pop,” the woman that is ready to ditch mascara, or any woman that wants to save time getting ready everyday and look naturally enhance ALL DAY!

How long do eyelash extensions last?
Eyelash extensions can last up to 4 weeks! However, the extensions will shed with your natural lash cycle and general after care will affect how long the lashes last. We generally shed our natural lashes at a rate of 2-6 lashes per day on each eye. With proper care, clients will have extensions remaining at 30 but maintenance appointments will be needed to maintain a full appearance.

How long does an eyelash extension appointment take?
Typically, an appointment for a new full set of eyelash extensions will take approximately 2 hours to apply. Fill appointments will take less time and are recommended at 2-3 weeks. One week fill appointments will take one full hour and are usually reserved for clients that like to maintain the ultimate full, luxurious set or clients that have experienced premature lash shedding.

What should I do prior to my lash appointment?
Prior to an eyelash extension appointment, clients should ensure their natural lashes are clean and makeup/mascara free using a oil-free cleanser. Clean lashes are the key to a strong bond with the adhesive, the extension, and the natural lash. If clients arrive with lashes that are not clean, the lash artist may have to take time to cleanse lashes, which will take away from the time allotted to apply extensions.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Just yourself! At Lashes by Deja, we provide everything needed to apply a luxurious set of lashes.

Can I wear makeup with my eyelash extensions?
Yes, however, it is highly recommended to avoid mascara. Oils that are found in ,mascara will weaken the bond of the adhesive and cause lashes to shed prematurely. If eyeshadow and liner is worn, it is important to cleanse the eyelid and lash line thoroughly to ensure no residue is left.

Can the eyelash extensions be removed?
Absolutely! The extensions are semi-permanent and can be removed at anytime. If a client desires for their extensions to be removed, please schedule a Lash removal appointment to have the extensions professionally removed with our special lash removal treatment. Clients should not pick, pull, or attempt to remove lash extension as this can result in damage to the natural lashes.

What should I do pre/post my eyelash extension appointment?
Our pre and post treatment instructions are located here and may be printed with your consent form for future reference.
